2005.12.09 - The two new cameras SP-350 and SP-500 from Olympus are now supported by EVS. The SP-350 is an 8 MegaPixel with 3X zoom and the SP-500 is a 6 MegaPixel with 10X zoom.
2005.11.15 - NEW !! High Speed VmView: Version 24v This version uses a much faster Jpeg streaming protocol, and the VM95 camera station must be upgraded to version 91a or greater to support this. You must also be using a version wvcc.exe greater than 35.1. Click the Downloads link above to install.
2005.11.15 - VM95 now supports ARGUS file formats. Argus collects three basic image products for beach studies. These include the traditional snapshot, showing wave activity, ten-minute time-exposure (timex) images of the wave dissipation patterns (revealing submerged sand bars and rip channels) and variance images (separating dynamic from steady areas of the image. The greatest scientific value currently come from the timex images. A new VM95 software feature allows the user to save files in either of these fomats. (ver. 91 and higher)

2005.02.10 - EVS evaluating the new 26x block cam. The Sony FCBEX980S camera combines a new incredibly high 26 times zoom and Auto ICR (Infrared Cut-Filter Removal) capability with a 1/4 type Super HAD™ CCD using Sony's image stabilization technology. The FCBEX980S camera features a 26x lens that is "tele-shifted" toward the telephoto end of the zoom range to provide the highest TELEPHOTO zoom capability (1.7 degree H-FOV) available in the Sony FCB family.
2005.02.01 - With one more coming online soon, and 2 already active, Palm Beach County is monitoring 3 of their local inlets. Being used for the dual purpose of monitoring the shoreline and providing crucial inlet conditions for boaters in the community. See their site here.

2003.03.20 - The Peregrine Falcon Cam is back! EVS is proud to offer it's services to Kodak. Look under the Clients/Research links for the official Kodak website for the camera.
2003.02.19 - EVS has added two new cameras to it's systems. The Sony Block Camera which will offer customers realtime camera control and excellent zoom capability and the Canon G2 which adds incredible megapixel imaging.
2002.08.28 - EVS has added 4 Megapixel digital camera with real time thru-the-lens video to it's packages. Dial into your camera station, pan, tilt and zoom while watching the live video stream. Snap beautiful high definition digital images at up to 2288x1712 pixels!! This is our new standard for remote image monitoring and documentation system.
2002.05.08 - Kodak chooses Erdman Video Systems for their Peregrine Falcon Cam. The camera will come down July 18, 2002 but will be back next year. This is Kodak's most popular site; 2 eggs hatched on May 18, 2002. Millions of users watched the growth of the chicks over the next month with image updates every 3 minutes, 24 hours a day.
2002.04.08 - EVS adds two very useful imaging algorithms (image rectification and registration) for Coastal Monitoring to it's standard systems.
2002.01.28 - VM95 software now supports two new Olympus Megapixel cameras. The Olympus C-700 UltraZoom is a 2.1 Megapixel camera with a high quality 10x optical zoom for exceptionally high quality zoomed in shots. The C-700 is currently being used in Italy. Also supported is the Olympus C-4040, a 4 Megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom. These 2 cameras join the family of excellent Kodak cameras that we support (DC120. DC260, DC290 and the DC4800).
2002.01.25 - Image processing techniques can now be used to rotate, align, blend and even de-spherize (undo the fisheye warping of wide angle lens) images allowing our systems to publish nearly seamless panorama shots automatically and completely unattended. These techniques can be selected in the programming section and can transform crooked, misaligned images into beautiful panoramas.

2001.04.18 - Erdman Video Systems main product, the Biscuit with VM95, now supports the Kodak DC4800 (3.1 MegaPixel's!) making your WebCam the highest quality and resolution available today.
2001.02.21 - Miami Beach is back on line with 2 cameras! We are now using a DC260 with 2x telephoto lens for a total zoom of 6x with images at 1536x1024 pixel resolution.
2001.01.24 - New Biscuit pricing! Prices cut by up to 15%. The Kodak DC290 is now available providing native resolution of 1794x1200.
2001.01.22 - The Miami Beach Cam is coming back online. The system at Miami Beach has been very expensive for us to maintain over the years so we had to either take the system down or create a donor program to help with the upkeep of the system. Many of you were interested in donating to the system so we are able to keep it up a functional. We appreciate the donations that we have received for the system.
2000.10.27 - EVS TrailCam is a motion-sensor triggered, hi-res digital camera for documenting animal activities in the wild. See http://video-monitoring.com/wtek for a real life example monitoring Big Horn sheep, deer and wild boar in West Texas. This system uses solar panels and uploads via satellite phone to the Internet.
